Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 20, 2026

The short version: Molecyou does not collect your personal data. It has no accounts and no analytics. Any Apple Health data you choose to share is processed only on your device and is never uploaded to us or anyone else.

1. Who we are

Molecyou ("the app", "we", "us") is an educational iOS app about human biology and reference protein structures. This policy explains how the app handles information.

2. Information we do not collect

Molecyou does not require an account and does not collect, store, or transmit personal information to us. Specifically, we do not use analytics, advertising, tracking, or third-party marketing SDKs.

3. Apple Health data (optional)

If you choose to connect Apple Health, Molecyou requests read-only access to categories such as workouts, active energy, heart-rate summaries, sleep, respiratory rate, blood oxygen, and VO2 max. This data is used solely to suggest relevant educational biology topics inside the app.

4. Data stored on your device

Items you save (such as proteins, systems, and lessons) and any notes you write are stored locally on your device. Deleting the app removes this data.

5. Network requests

To display interactive 3D structures, the app retrieves reference protein data from the AlphaFold Protein Structure Database (operated by EMBL-EBI). These requests contain only a public protein identifier and standard technical information required to complete the request — they do not include your health data or any personal identifiers. The app may also open links to external scientific resources (for example UniProt or the NCBI Bookshelf) in your browser; those sites are governed by their own privacy policies.

6. Children's privacy

Molecyou is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Not medical advice

Molecyou provides educational information about human biology and reference protein structures. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition, and it does not measure molecular activity inside your body. For medical questions, please consult a qualified healthcare professional.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
